1/10 Still no word from Swarthmore. Wondering if at this point it might be appropriate to assume that they have already invited finalists but just not sent out rejections yet. Has anyone heard anything? 1/16: I have not received any word either (2x: assume an internal hire). 1/17 Normally I'd agree with this guess (internal hire), but there are no visiting fac listed in Black Studies, English, or Film/Media Studies that remotely do what the ad describes. (Music dept. put out its own ad.) To be fair, it could be another dept. I wonder if there's an admin problem because it's a program trying to become a department. <-- 1/21: I wonder the same thing. I haven't heard back either.
