Virginia Tech's Architecture Program in the School of Architecture+Design invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in architectural history and theory to begin in August 2016. The position will be filled, depending upon qualifications, at the rank of assistant or associate professor.

An advanced degree in the history and theory of architecture is required, with preference given to candidates holding a Ph.D. and/or a professional degree in architecture. The successful candidate will teach primarily in the undergraduate architecture program, including the required two-semester history of architecture survey and the required one-semester theory course: Concepts, Ideas, and Representations. Job Description: The Department of Architecture and Design at Alfred State invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to teach undergraduate courses and studios focusing on interior design and architecture with a particular emphasis on architectural materials, interior finishes, and sustainability. Experience teaching architectural and design history courses is desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a multi-disciplinary approach to design education and will be facile conveying complexities of the built environment to undergraduate design students. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, assessment, department and college-level committee work, new course development and on-going professional development.

Requirements: The ideal applicant will have earned a terminal degree in Architecture (an M.Arch, D.Arch, or similar) or a closely related design discipline by the time of appointment. Experience as a student or faculty member at a small, residential campus is desirable. An understanding of the differences between a university and a small college with the desire and commitment to teach at a small, residential college is essential.

The role: The School of Architecture at the University of Queensland is pleased to invite applications for the position of Lecturer in Architecture. The successful applicant will have a clear design research agenda that diversifies and complement the School's design research and teaching. The appointee will be intellectually engaged in the discourse of contemporary architecture and able to bridge theory and practice. They will be fluent in digital technologies and have expertise in an adjacent area of design experimentation such as materials innovation, experimental structures, interior design, art practice and multimedia. The appointee will be expected to teach innovative design courses and one course in the field of communications, informed by their own research and professional experience. Appointees will be required to undertake an active program of research leading to scholarly and/or creative outputs of international standing. They will work collegially with other academic staff and relate their research to a lively studio based culture.
