The Department of Global Studies at the University of Oregon seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Global Political Economy to start in Fall 2023. We seek a scholar who holds a Ph.D. in a relevant social science, humanities, or interdisciplinary program by the time of appointment and whose expertise addresses one or more of these areas in qualitative and/or quantitative perspective: economic globalization and its political and social impacts; international political economic institutions and processes; debt, dependency, and the legacies of colonization; and the relationships between global political economy, human development, and development strategies and policies.   • University of Illinois, Chicago The Global Asian Studies Program (GLAS) at the University of Illinois, Chicago is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Asian Diaspora and Visual Cultures beginning Fall 2023. This hire is part of a Provost Cluster Initiative on “The Racialized Body” focusing on the ways that contemporary and historical notions of race, racial ideology, and racial politics are manifested in how “the body” is represented, inhabited, and regulated. For the position in Visual Culture, we seek scholars whose research examines how visual technologies and/or artifacts have been central to the production, consumption, and/or regulation of the Asian or Asian American body in the context of nation-building, empire, and diaspora. We welcome candidates with interdisciplinary and comparative projects informed by Cultural Studies, Performance Studies, and/or Art History that focus on the body in or outside of the U.S. context. Our department wishes to build on the existing strength of faculty working on transpacific studies across several departments at USC as we search for a junior scholar who will contribute to English and Creative Writing's strengths in literature, media and popular culture, genre studies, and gender and sexuality studies, as well as to possibly increase our commitment to indigenous studies.
