The Division of Anthropology, American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), is conducting an open search for a position in Biological Anthropology with a specialization in paleoanthropology (human origins) at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Curator. This is a tenure-track position. For candidates showing notable experience and accomplishment, there is possibility of tenure at the time of appointment, pending review and determination through the Museum’s tenure process. Candidates should have a strong background and evidence of documented or potential international leadership in paleoanthropological research. AMNH Biological Anthropology collections are some of the most comprehensive in the world, offering a unique opportunity for collections research. Extensive possibilities also exist for professional interaction with colleagues at AMNH across the biological and physical sciences. AMNH curatorships are defined as research positions and evidence of an active research program is essential, ideally including an active field component. Prior experience with museum collections is also an asset.

AMNH curators are expected to maintain a high level of productivity in original research, to seek extramural funding, and to assume oversight responsibility for the management of Museum collections relevant to their areas of expertise. Other responsibilities or opportunities may include advising graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, offering courses in the Museum’s Richard Gilder Graduate School, serving on academic and administrative committees, and participating in Museum-sponsored exhibits and educational programs. The interdisciplinary program in Global Health Studies at Allegheny College is accepting applications for a tenure-track position, rank open, beginning in August 2018. We seek a broadly trained biological anthropologist specializing on primate behavior and/or ecology and primate fieldwork with an active research agenda leading to conference presentation(s) and/or peer-reviewed publication(s). Preferred Qualifications 
PhD in anthropology by the time of appointment, a proven track record in teaching, experience in ethnographic and qualitative research and scholarly publication will be given priority. The ability to teach a foundational course in Biological Anthropology is welcome. The applicant will also be expected to teach courses in their area of expertise.

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Victoria invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in the area of Biological Anthropology. The appointment, effective July 1, 2018, will be made at the rank of assistant professor. Candidates must have a PhD in hand by the position start date.

We seek a colleague who is interested in joining a department that values cooperation between anthropological sub-disciplines; has demonstrated excellence in UG teaching and excellent potential for graduate teaching and mentoring; has demonstrated evidence of strong scholarship in the form of publications; an active or well-formulated plan for a continuing research program; a demonstrated ability or strong potential to attract external research funding; and potential for involving students in research. We seek an individual whose primary research and teaching interests will contribute strength primarily towards our “Evolution and Ecology” program theme, with research that approaches the study of human biology in living or past populations using an evolutionary perspective and complements existing faculty strengths.

Examples of possible specialties include but are not limited to human evolutionary biology, human growth and development, human life history, ecology of epidemics or disease, human adaptation, global health and nutrition, and developmental origins of disease.

The successful candidate will contribute to the success of the new BSc Anthropology program (Fall 2018) as well as the current BA, MA and PhD programs through undergraduate and graduate teaching. Applicants must be able to teach introductory biological anthropology. The ability to teach methods-based courses, quantitative methods in anthropology, and a breadth of biological anthropology courses will be a strong asset. The four course (1.5 unit each) per annum teaching commitment comes with the expectation that the successful candidate will be actively engaged in research and graduate student mentoring.

We invite applications for a full time lecturer in Biological Anthropology to begin in August 2018. This is a replacement appointment for up to four semesters. Responsibilities for this consist of a full-time equivalent teaching load, as well as student advising and service. The candidate must have a demonstrable familiarity with undergraduate instruction. Geographic area and subject matter is open.
