As part of our expansion we are recruiting for a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Physiology.
The successful candidate will be supported in establishing a new research group in the School of Sport. They will also assume the role of Laboratory Director of a new Human Performance Laboratory housed at our Nestle Rowntree Sports Park. A well-developed record of research publication is considered essential. The successful candidate will be expected to make a contribution to the University’s expansion in STEM including assisting in the development of new programmes in Human Biology, Biochemistry and Nutrition. In regards to teaching experience and responsibilities, you will support the development and delivery of physiology within the school at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Demonstrable expertise and experience in this area is also considered essential.

Grand Valley State University (MI) - Assistant Professor, Anatomy and Physiology in Biomedical Sciences
The Biomedical Sciences department at Grand Valley State University is pleased to announce it is searching for a new tenure-track faculty member to join our department in Fall 2017.
Qualifications and Education: Qualified applicants will be committed to both classroom teaching and research involving undergraduate and/or graduate students. Applicants with demonstrated experience teaching an integrated human anatomy and physiology course and associated labs are encouraged to apply. The area of research emphasis is open, although we encourage candidates whose research complements foci of existing faculty to apply. The successful candidate must have obtained a Ph.D. or equivalent in anatomy and/or physiology, or a related field.
Responsibilities: Duties include a 9 contact hour (3 course) teaching load per semester, scholarship, and service. The primary teaching duties for this position will be an integrated anatomy and physiology course, although faculty may be asked to teach in other areas of expertise.

Department: The Biomedical Sciences department has been a rapidly expanding department at Grand Valley State University. The department has approximately 1,300 undergraduate majors, 41 full time faculty members, a Master’s degree program, and offers courses that support other undergraduate majors, the university’s general education program, and select graduate programs. Summary of Duties: The position is defined as approximately 75% research/graduate education and 25% teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a productive, extramurally funded research program in the area of infectious diseases/immunology. At the Assistant Professor level, evidence of 36 months of productive post-doctoral research experience is required. The research area should be compatible with the departmental research focus on infectious diseases. Areas of emphasis include immunology, food- and water-borne diseases, and vector-borne diseases. Candidates must have demonstrated abilities in conducting hypothesis-based research and publishing high quality papers in top tier journals; a track record of, or strong potential for attracting extramural funding, and a history or interest in contributing to high quality veterinary and graduate education.
