    • is this the same search that has been going for two years?
      • Lmaooo yes!! I saw this ad today and I was like wtf. When I applied in 2024 (for Fall 2025), many people who applied in 2023 warned me not to for several reasons. Seeing this ad here for the 3rd year in a row seriously raises some red flags.
      • what seems to be the issue?
      • ^ it suggests that the department is either too toxic/too many huge egos to come to an agreement on who to make an offer to and would rather torpedo a search altogether or the admin is playing weird games with funding. Or both.
      • They have run it for 2 years, but this is the 4th search (they ran it as an associate position in 2023, then they ran it as an assistant level in Fall 2024, then they failed that so they reopened it for a 3rd search in Spring 2025...which it seems they also failed). I was part of a search last year and the person who commented above me is not wrong...
