Job Summary: Central Washington University (CWU), Ellensburg, WA invites applications for two tenure track positions in Computer Science at the Assistant Professor level, beginning September 1, 2017. The Department is undergoing a period of substantial change and growth, including expansion of the faculty body and increase of its external visibility The successful candidates will be enthusiastic educators who will contribute to the delivery of the department's undergraduate and graduate programs and to the department's growing research culture and reputation. The newly appointed Assistant Professors will join the Computer Science Department of CWU at a critical time in CWU's and the department's history, with the legislature providing funding for the expansion of the CWU Computer Science program. The number of Computer Science job openings is three times the number of graduates and post-graduates of the discipline in the State of Washington and the starting salaries are among the highest in the sector. The department also anticipates benefiting from additional state legislative support and funding available to Computer Science programs in higher education interested in developing an endorsement for K-12 teachers. These funding/growth opportunities, the high employability and starting salaries of graduates and postgraduates, the upcoming move of the Computer Science Department into a state of the art new building, and the ongoing collaborative options with major industries in the Seattle high-tech area make this an especially exciting time to be a part of the CWU Computer Science department. Furthermore, the master's program in Computational Science is the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest, attracting both American and international students in an interdisciplinary, multicultural research and teaching environment.
Job Duties: Assistant Professors are expected to develop strong student advising, teaching, research, public service and academic programs within their departments. Assistant Professors are responsible to their department chair in matters of teaching assignments, scholarship and service. The Assistant Professors will teach an appropriate workload of both general computer science courses and courses within their area of expertise, as determined under the provision of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Assistant Professors will also engage in scholarship and service activities as part of their workload. Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science or closely allied discipline;
- Experience and demonstrated commitment to diversity;

- Track record of success in teaching, scholarship and service.
The successful candidates will have a broad understanding of computer science and must qualify for promotion and tenure at the associate professor level. In addition, the candidates should provide evidence of experience with some or all of the following preferred qualifications:
- Leading an academic program with both graduate and undergraduate component;
- Experience working with a diverse student population;
- Undergraduate and graduate classroom teaching;
- Experience in advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students;
- Success in publishing research and securing external funding; and
- Outreach to community groups, K-12 schools, government agencies, other colleges/universities, and industry.

Seattle University (WA) - Instructor, Web Development
Job Summary
The Web, Application, and Technology Studies Program (WATS) in the School of New and Continuing Studies (NCS) invites applications for a Full-Time Non-Tenure Track Instructor beginning September 1, 2017.
The WATS Program offers a cutting-edge curriculum designed to serve adult students who wish to enhance their career opportunities and/or to complete their BA degrees. Courses are delivered online with optional face-to-face support. WATS currently offers a portfolio-based Web Development Certificate focused on front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JS) and professional practice. Course content is delivered online, and students are required to occasionally attend lab sessions where they can work with their instructors and peers through projects and assignments. WATS is continually developing new programs and educational resources.
The Instructor in the WATS Program will be responsible for teaching and service to the school. They will also play an early startup faculty role in the WATS Program, and NCS in general, requiring an individual who is excited to conceive, build and support new programs and opportunities for students. This includes maintaining an active relationship with the larger technology industry, helping students match to careers and roles, promoting our programs to prospective students, and helping to develop new programs and courses. Experience teaching and performing in backend or full-stack roles is highly valued.
This position requires a flexible, student-centered candidate who is eager to fill in where needed and proactive in identifying and addressing potential improvements. We operate in a team environment, teaching from common syllabi and working with colleagues from all over the university to provide the best experience for our students. This position will collaborate on the creation of new programs and courses.
The successful candidate will possess industry experience working in a position of responsibility on web-based projects. Candidates should have expert knowledge in, and a passion for, building websites or web-based applications, and should be able to move between both frontend and backend technologies (Python is preferred). Additional technology and industry skills are also valued.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS or higher in Computer Science or related field
- Experience working in the field of web development and/or website production
- A portfolio of work highlighting past accomplishments
- Experience teaching technology (in either formal or workshop/tutorial settings)
- Experience writing courses, tutorials, or creating other educational/training materials
- Demonstrated history as an active member within some technology community (Meetup group, open source project, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS, MA, PhD, MFA, etc.) in relevant field
- Extensive (3 years +) industry experience with web development, mobile apps, or other relevant technology practice
- Advanced specialization in some relevant web technology (e.g. Python, Ruby, devops, infrastructure, etc.)
- Experience teaching online

University of Washington (WA) - Assistant or Associate Professor, Computer Science (Multiple positions)
The University of Washington's Department of Computer Science & Engineering has multiple tenure-track positions in a wide variety of technical areas in both Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Hires will be made at the Assistant (0116) and Associate (0102) Professor ranks, although individuals at more senior ranks with exceptional credentials may be considered. The positions would be full-time multi-year appointments with 9-month service periods. Washington State University (WA) - Assistant Professor, Computer Science
Summary of Duties: The School of Engineering & Applied Sciences at Washington State University, at its Tri-Cities campus in Richland, WA, invites applications for one permanent, full-time tenure-track faculty position at the nominal Assistant Professor level in Computer Science, with a specialization in Cybersecurity. Of particular interest are applicants whose research and teaching expertise include current cybersecurity subfields such as: cybersecurity of critical infrastructures, security of industrial control systems, and human factors in cybersecurity, and whose interests encompass resilience; Secure by Design methodologies; or foundational science of cybersecurity, including predictions and measurements in cyberspace. Encouraged are applications from candidates with demonstrated expertise, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.

- Develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses, in computer science, particularly in cybersecurity, fostering experiential learning;
- Advise and mentor undergraduate, MS and PhD students;
- Contribute to advancing computer science education and research;
