The English Department at Denison University invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of English specializing in pre-1900 American Literature, to begin in August of 2025. Strong candidates will demonstrate a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level, an appreciation of the context of a small residential liberal arts institution, and a clear and active research agenda; preference will be shown for candidates who can contribute to the curricular breadth of the English department. The Department of Literatures in English at Ithaca College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in pre-1900 African American or African Diaspora literature. Normally, faculty will teach 5 courses annually, which will include both upper-level and introductory courses. We seek candidates with strong research and teaching profiles in early comparative ethnic American literature and culture, especially early Latino/a/e/x and/or early Asian American and Asian diasporic writing and expression. Preferred: Scholars working in comparative or relational race and ethnic studies are especially desired. Oregon State University (OR, USA). The School of Writing, Literature, and Film at Oregon State University invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Teaching of American Literature. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work engages one or more of the following areas of pre-1900 American literary studies: Native American, African American, and/or Latinx literature. The position consists of research (20%), teaching (70%), and service (10%). The teaching load is seven courses over three quarters annually (fall, winter, and spring terms). Teaching responsibilities involve lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses, including general education courses, and/or graduate seminars in relevant literary traditions, including topics of the candidate's design. - Nothing here either. Even if they hire their current VAP, they would still conduct other interviews, though, yes
