-Any news?
-nothing yet 1/9
-I received a request for letters of reference on December 4th, but haven't heard anything since. 1/9
-my references received request for letters on 12/4, but i haven't heard directly from Pitt. 1/10 x4
-anything after letter requests? 1/19
- I haven't heard anything after the letter requests. Interested to hear from others? (1/19)
- radio silence (1/21)
-whispers that interviews (likely) already happened a few weeks ago. No direct confirmation, though, so it may be worth reaching out to Pitt directly
-Campus visit invites issued. 02/07/2025.
- I'm sure most have seen the somewhat comical email to applicants that went out on 2/10/2025. Email stated that there was an error in the email to references sent 12/2, which said recommenders were being contacted at the interview stage, but that they were in fact sent at the application stage. (Since the error email was sent over 2 months later, most of us had figured this out already.) The apology seemed addressed more to the recommenders than to applicants. Search committees, please do better by your applicants, especially if you are going to ask for numerous supplemental materials in addition to the standard dossier.

-Rejection email received (12/20) ^^Did the email come after an interview?
^^No. It was an auto response from the employment website.
Any news?
^^ Nope. (I did the Zoom interview 12/3 and haven't heard anything since then.)
-didn't receive a rejection, nor an interview invite?
- (2/19) Received a rejection email today, about 2.5 months after my December Zoom interview. No campus visit invite, no news in between. The email was apologetic for its late notice and was vaguely worded, simply saying that they would not be doing a campus interview with me. I'm not sure whether this means that there was a delay in that stage of the search, or whether they have made an offer. I'm assuming based on past experience that had kept a few folks from the shortlist in case they needed to dip back into the pool after the initial campus visits. Hope that helps!
