The Lafayette College Environmental Science and Studies Programs invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Environmental Humanities beginning in the Fall Semester 2019. Exceptionally well-qualified applicants at the associate or full professor rank may also be considered.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who will contribute to the degree programs in Environmental Science and Studies.
Requirements: The candidate should be capable of teaching an introductory course in the interdisciplinary Environmental Studies major, an intermediate level course in Environmental Literature, intermediate and advanced courses in his or her area of expertise, and the environmental capstone course. Candidates with demonstrated expertise in Environmental Justice from an environmental humanities perspective are especially desirable. Backgrounds in Environmental Literature, Science, and Technology Studies, or Religious Studies, for example, are of particular interest. In all cases, the successful candidate will have training in Environmental Humanities, a promising scholarly record, and interest in and/or experience working in collaborative interdisciplinary settings. Academic responsibilities include teaching 4 courses the first year, and then 5 courses per year thereafter, and participating in events and programming related to the Programs in Environmental Studies and Sciences.

National University of Singapore (SGP) - TT Assistant Professor in English Literature[]
The National University of Singapore invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in English Literature at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence in July 2019.
Exceptional applicants will be nominated for an appointment as a Presidential Young Professor. The PYP position is also a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank, with a start-up package of up to SGD 750,000, research scholarships to support PhD students, and an award of SGD 250,000 for discretionary spending.
The program in English Literature is housed in the Department of English Language & Literature at NUS and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees. The program covers the historical periods of British literature as well as other literary traditions such as American, South-Asian, and Southeast-Asian literature. It also offers modules on film, mediatic forms, visual culture, and critical theory.
For this appointment, we are keen to find a scholar who works in one of the following areas: postcolonial theory and literature (with focus on Asia); nineteenth-century British literature; world literature; gender and sexuality studies; and environmental humanities. However, we also welcome expertise beyond these areas and encourage literary scholars of other research specializations to apply.
The teaching load is 2:1 (one or two courses per semester, totaling three per academic year). All instruction is in English. Salaries are internationally competitive and housing benefits are offered. Substantial funding for research and conference travel are available. Women and members of underrepresented minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply.

Description of Responsibilities: The Assistant Professor, Environmental Film & Literature will be primarily responsible for teaching courses in environmental film and literature, as well as core courses in the Cinema and Screen Studies program, which includes 140 majors. Will teach courses that span environmental filmmaking, film and the environment, literature and the environment, as well as eco-criticism and theory. The Assistant Professor will also be expected to lead development of a minor program devoted to filmmaking in the service of conservation, sustainability and bio-diversity. Additional responsibilities include working collaboratively in interdisciplinary ways both on campus and statewide; providing departmental and University service; advising majors; and continuing to produce a nationally competitive portfolio of sustained and distinctive creative and scholarly activity.
In addition, the Assistant Professor, Environmental Film & Literature will be expected to display a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship, commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.
Required Qualifications: MFA/Ph.D. degree by time of appointment. A demonstrable film practice committed to the care and preservation of wildlife and wilderness that includes formal, ethical and political reflection on the practice of filmmaking itself. Must be dedicated to helping students from diverse backgrounds succeed in a multicultural and global community.
Preferred Qualifications: A proactive colleague capable of working with scientists, humanists and activists in interdisciplinary and international contexts. Demonstrated deep commitment to mentoring students. A desire to collaborate with other faculty, and an entrepreneurial attitude for helping grow the program.

The Department of English at the University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Environmental Humanities. We seek candidates, grounded in their primary literary or rhetorical disciplines, who can add to our strengths in the Environmental Humanities while also contributing to our vision of a deeply integrated and interdisciplinary department. We welcome applicants with a strong research agenda in the environmental humanities, broadly construed. All research approaches are welcome, including those related to environmental justice, the energy humanities, ecocriticism, indigenous and postcolonial environmentalisms, ecofeminism, queer ecologies, and animal studies. Washington University in St. Louis (MO) - Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environment/Environmental Justice - American Culture Studies (AMCS)[]
The Program in American Culture Studies (AMCS) at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in “Environment/Environmental Justice,” for the academic year 2019-2020 with the possibility of renewal for a second academic year, contingent upon satisfactory performance; duties starting in the Fall semester of 2019. AMCS is an endowed program in Arts & Sciences that fosters cross-disciplinary intellectual exchange and transformative scholarship at the intersections of the humanities and social sciences.
We are particularly interested in applicants, academics and/or practitioners, whose research, teaching, and practice (1) have a strong theoretical awareness, and deeply engage substantive empirical, ethnographic, and/or historical materials; (2) center on the richly-informed study of environmental issues, problems, and debates in relation to America (broadly defined), especially questions of science and science studies, justice, inequality, race/ethnicity (and other social contrasts), sustainability, industry, state power, and public health; (3) speak to historical and/or contemporary public debates about environmental issues and problems, such as climate change, disasters, land use, indigeneity, and natural resources.
Candidates must have received the Ph.D. since July 1, 2015, or be scheduled to defend the dissertation before July 1, 2019. The Fellow will receive a salary of $55,000 per year, plus benefits, a $3,000 annual research/travel stipend, and the possibility for a workshop to support the peer review of a polished book manuscript.
