The Environmental Science & Studies Programs at Lafayette College invite applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Environmental Humanities beginning July 1, 2021. We seek a colleague with a background in environmental humanities or humanist social sciences with teaching and research interests in environmental justice, literature, ethics, or a related field. The successful applicant will teach a 3-3 load including an introductory course in the interdisciplinary Environmental Studies major, one intermediate-level course in Environmental Justice, a second intermediate level-course (e.g., in Environmental Literature, Indigenous Studies, Global Ecologies), and one advanced course in his or her area of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD and teaching experience; however, we will consider well-qualified ABD applicants. The Environmental Programs are interested in building a culturally diverse intellectual community and strongly encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds with interest in and/or experience working in collaborative interdisciplinary settings to apply.

The Bi-College Department of Environmental Studies at Bryn Mawr College and Haverford College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Environmental Humanities beginning August 1, 2021. We seek a colleague with teaching and research interests in the humanities or arts, (e.g., literary and/or visual studies, the creative arts, history, critical theory, cultural studies or philosophy) with areas of interest at the intersection of the environment and Social Justice, Indigenous Studies, Race and Ethnic Studies, or Gender and Sexuality Studies. Candidates interested in community-driven collaborations would be particularly welcome. The successful candidate will teach a total of five courses, including at least one writing intensive Introduction to Environmental Humanities course each semester, plus three additional courses over the academic year.
