The mathematics and natural sciences division at Elmira College invites applications for a tenure-track position in environmental science beginning fall term 2021. Applicants are expected to possess a Ph.D. with a specialty in environmental science or related field and experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Responsibilities include teaching, advising students, participating in service on committees, and scholarly activity (e.g. publications and conferences). Teaching responsibilities will primarily involve teaching introductory courses in environmental science and geographic information systems, as well as upper-level courses in climatology and hydrogeology. Research with undergraduate students. Research activities that utilize Elmira's partnerships or strategic location is also required.

Elmira College, the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies, is a small, well-established, residential, liberal arts college in a pleasant community in the Finger Lakes region of New York State (county population 100,000).

The Environmental Studies Department at Wellesley College, in conjunction with the Frost Center for the Environment and the Newhouse Center for the Humanities, is seeking outstanding candidates for a two-year Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Environmental Humanities. The Fellow will teach two courses per year (both upper level and lower level). The candidate’s research area and approach are open, but might include critical race theory, ecofeminism, environmental history, ecocriticism, decolonial theory, etc. We are especially interested in candidates whose research and teaching engage with Indigenous, non-Western, and/or African Diasporic perspectives in the environmental humanities.
