Duke University Trinity College of Arts & Sciences in Durham, North Carolina seeks candidates for a tenure-track professorship at the assistant professor level in the study of United States Indigenous people (American Indian, Kānaka Maoli, and Alaskan Native Corporations). This hire is part of a sustained, multiyear commitment by Trinity College of Arts & Sciences to increase the expertise and representation of Native, Indigenous, and/or First Nations people of the Americas studies across core departments. Preference will be given to candidates whose work is centrally located in United States Indigenous studies while also substantially linked to other fields of inquiry. Tenure Track Assistant Professor in 20 and 21st Century Postcolonial Literature.

The English Department in the College of Arts and Sciences at Fairfield University invites applicants for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professorship in 20 and 21st Century Postcolonial Literature in English beginning in September 2023. We welcome candidates with secondary interests in African, Caribbean, South Asian, or Asian literature in English; transnational approaches to Black culture in the Americas; African Diaspora literature and film; Asian Diaspora literature and film; anti/post/decolonialism; and critical theory. There will be opportunities to collaborate with our interdisciplinary programs in Black Studies, Islamic Studies, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, American Studies, Asian Studies, Peace and Justice Studies, Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and International Studies. We also welcome applicants whose scholarship extends beyond the Anglophone to include African or Asian languages. Applicants must have a strong commitment to pedagogical innovation and demonstrated excellence in using technology in the classroom.  The potential for developing an active research program in the candidate’s area of specialization is also required.

The position requires teaching three literature courses at the undergraduate level each semester, distributed between Core/introductory courses and upper division courses for majors and minors, with an opportunity for a one-semester, pre-tenure research leave, as well as a sabbatical following every 12 semesters of teaching. The successful candidate will have completed the Ph.D. by the position start date, and will have demonstrated excellence in teaching.

Georgetown UniversityFull-Time Non-Tenure Line Faculty Position in Global Human Development

The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University invites applications for a non-tenure-track open-rank faculty position as either an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of the Practice or a Professor of Teaching with preference given to one or more of the following: the intersection of the private sector and development, social innovation, food security/agriculture, climate change/environment, or education. The position will be based with the Masters in Global Human Development (GHD) Program. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the incumbent will manage the GHD Capstone project and Washington D.C. internship processes (distinct from GHD's international summer internship), and lead the Certificate on Social Innovation and Global Development (SIDG). The appointment will begin in the Fall of 2023.

A Ph.D. is required. In addition, the ideal candidate will have professional experience that includes teaching and mentorship, and publications and research in one or more of the areas listed above.

The Ithaca College Diversity Scholars Program was created to increase the racial and ethnic diversity of Ithaca College faculty and, in so doing, bring fresh perspectives to the college’s curriculum and the learning experiences offered to students.

Fellowships are for the academic year (August 15, 2023 to May 31, 2024) and are non-renewable. Scholars will receive a $42,000 stipend, $5,000 in travel/professional development support, relocation reimbursement, office space, health benefits, and access to Ithaca College and Cornell University libraries. Scholars will teach one course in the fall semester and one course in the spring semester; will be mentored by a faculty member in the host department; will be expected to participate in one official function per semester and monthly professionalization meetings; and must partake in an exit-interview. Course must be taught in person.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited PhD granting program; display a commitment to a career in teaching at the college or university level and scholarly promise. Applicants must also be authorized to work in the United States. Prior to August 15, 2023, applicants must be advanced to candidacy at their home institution.
