  • The Centre seeks to strengthen its research by attracting excellent researchers. The successful candidate is expected to take an active interest in developing the research profile of the Centre in collaboration with the other staff members.   • Tenure-track assistant professor appointment in environmental humanities, broadly interpreted to embrace disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
  • The successful candidate's primary appointment will be in either the Department of Anthropology or the Department of History and Sociology of Science. Secondary appointments in other departments can be arranged, as appropriate.

University of Pittsburgh (USA: PA) - Renewable Lecturer in “Gender and Science” (Non-TT)[]

  • The Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies (GSWS) Program at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a non-tenure-steam lecturer position in the area of gender and science. Pending budgetary approval, the position will begin in fall 2018 with an initial three-year contract, with the possibility of obtaining renewable three-year contracts after satisfactory performance reviews.
  • Applicants must demonstrate interest and proficiency in teaching relations between gender and science from an interdisciplinary and intersectional perspective.   • They've announced the job talks.  They're listed on their website.
  • [May 9] Just got an e-mail informing me that this search has been cancelled. WTF is with this university and cancelled searches? I've applied for several jobs at U of T in a couple of different departments over the past few years, and seen this happen at least twice before. Friends in English also say that searches periodically end in no hire (see previous postcolonial and Victorian searches on the wiki). Is this a sympton of U of T's sad penchant for styling itself Canada's off-brand Ivy ("nobody is good enough for us!")? An admin issue? The pattern is weird. Of course searches fail from time to time, but it seems odd that this happens so often here.
