The Honors Program seeks a full-time Specialized Faculty member to join a growing interdisciplinary core honors faculty as we expand our honors curriculum program and enriched engagement experiences.

Academic doctorate or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization and a minimum of two years experience working at a college or university, including some classroom teaching experience, are required for this position.
Ideal candidates will have experience in incorporating interdisciplinary, ethical, multicultural, and/or global perspective in their courses. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to collaborate productively with colleagues and to mentor students from a wide range of majors.

Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Explaining Differential Success in Biodiversity Knowledge Commons
The School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, fiscal-year appointment as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar. We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to participate in a research project describing and explaining differential outcomes among collaborative, distributed communities of scientists leading biodiversity data commons on a shared software platform. The postdoc will lead ASU projects within the context of a collaborative grant between ASU and Purdue University to investigate the structures, functions, and outcomes of multi-institutional collaborations to digitize, curate and publish observations of biological species from museum collections and citizen science projects. The postdoc will work collaboratively to collect data from qualitative interviews and surveys of biodiversity scientists and stakeholders for the data commons and analyze these data with other quantitative measures of the properties and outcomes. The project PI, Beckett Sterner, is an expert in history and philosophy of data science and faculty in ASU’s School of Life Sciences (SOLS). Project Co-PIs are Zoe Nyssa, an anthropologist of conservation science at Purdue University, and Steve Elliott, who studies the economics, social organizations, and reasoning strategies of research and is affiliated with ASU’s Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology. The qualified candidate is anticipated to start January 1, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The New School is seeking an Assistant Professor of Public Humanities to teach in the Liberal Arts program in the Bachelor’s Program for Adults and Transfer Students in the Schools of Public Engagement (SPE). The renewable term appointment will begin July 1, 2022.
We seek a scholar with a research and teaching program that merges humanities-based inquiry with innovative forms of public engagement, reaching audiences both within and outside academia. As a member of the interdisciplinary adult bachelor’s program, this hire will advance the mission of SPE through pedagogy that encourages students to be civically engaged actors and prepares them for community-based, creative, and /or applied work beyond the classroom. The Department of Humanities at Simon Fraser University invites applications for a full-time appointment of a scholar who will hold the 5-year, renewable Hellenic Canadian Congress of BC Chair in Hellenic Studies, starting July 15, 2022. This position is advertised as open rank and will be filled by either an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. A candidate for a junior Chair (Assistant or Associate Professor rank) will be a scholar who has a record of scholarly achievements well beyond that normally expected of a faculty member in that rank and who, based on their accomplishments to date, has the clear potential to make an extraordinary contribution to their discipline. Excellence in research and teaching are the primary criteria for this position. The Division of Social Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is conducting a search for the inaugural director of the Center for Feminist Futures. Building on a long tradition of outstanding research and teaching on gender and sexuality at UC Santa Barbara, the Center will bring together scholars and students to engage in and disseminate publicly facing research that moves us toward gender justice. Since 2018, the Feminist Futures Initiative has been modelling the kind of research and programming envisioned for the Center, building on three pillars:

We are seeking a visionary and energetic leader who holds a Ph.D. in a social science or humanistic social science field with a strong record of interdisciplinary and intersectional research on gender and sexuality; demonstration of effective teaching and mentoring; evidence of committed professional, campus, and community leadership; and expression of an innovative vision for the future of the Center. Appointment will be at the rank of associate or full professor within a department in the Division of Social Sciences—which encompasses Anthropology, Asian American Studies, Black Studies, Chicana and Chicano Studies, Communication, Economics, Feminist Studies, Global Studies, Political Science, and Sociology—and with a preference for at least 50% appointment in the Department of Feminist Studies. Scholars with strong leadership experience in policy, practical, and activist realms, in global and/or local contexts and related to the central Feminist Futures goals, are encouraged to apply.
The Center will be housed in the Division of Social Sciences and will bring together faculty and students from throughout the university. The hallmark of the Division of Social Sciences is the commitment to generating new knowledge about society, both locally and globally, with an emphasis on making knowledge on issues of pressing contemporary importance accessible to diverse publics in the interest of social justice and the common good. The Director will be appointed to a five-year renewable term and will receive a 50% appointment (two-course reduction from a four-course teaching load) and an annual stipend. The Center has current-use funding and is in the process of building an endowment. There will be support for website management, outreach, social media, grant-writing, and event planning. Students in all classes will be from a variety of majors. The work-load is 3-3 teaching. This is a full-time appointment at the level of Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor. Contract is one year, and the position begins August 2022.
Ph.D. required in any field. Candidates should demonstrate engagement across disciplinary boundaries in their work. We seek applicants with experience or ideas for implementing innovative teaching techniques and working with a diverse student population representing all of Purdue’s academic colleges. The Honors College is Purdue’s interdisciplinary college that serves highly motivated undergraduate students from every disciplinary school in the university.
