- And in this case, the internal had a strong advantage from the beginning. They liked him and had already decided the job would go to him unless he completely bombed the interview. Sometimes the accusation of Fake Search does not reflect reality, but this time it probably does.
Dear Car X Man: I totally understand and feel your frustration. As one of the four finalists, I was disappointed, frustrated and saddened when I knew that they hired the internal candidate. But Here are my thoughts: first of all, the internal guy must be a strong candidate, too. It's also unfair to totally ignore that. Secondly, the faculty members there are wonderful musicians and good people, too. It shows how nice they are to offer the job to him and not to kick him off the ship. If there are things to blame, it's the stupid law!!! Such a waste of time and energy for some many people.

- Rattle, rattle, thunder, clatter, boom, boom, BOOM, fellow pianists. Look, I had a lot of concerts this year and was super busy, okay? Most of this stuff is already on FB if you even have 3 pianist friends. Kent State - Andrew Le; University of Houston - Andrew Staupe; UMKC - Karen Savage and the guy from Texas Women's University whose name escapes me; Boston University - Tanya Gabrielian. The peak search cycles in terms of numbers were 2014-2017; since most of those TT positions were filled, I doubt that there will be many new openings for the next few years. It sucks, but the market truly does fluctuate.
