1. Please place new positions in alphabetical order. Note that "University of X" should be alphabetized by U as first sort, and X as second sort within the U listings.

2. Please mark the title of the position using the H3 header.

3. Please include the deadline and a web link to the ad/website; PLEASE follow the format of other entries.

4. For logging comments or updates, please begin your entry with a bullet point. Each entry should have a separate line.

5. For substantive comments or updates about status, interaction, etc., please include the date at the beginning of your entry so that users can scan the info quickly for new entries.

6. Please do not post names in "Accepted Offers" until an offer has actually been accepted. Do not post a name if an offer has merely been extended, as this is not fair to the candidate's students, or to the candidate him/herself, who may need to negotiate with his/her current institution, etc. Ideally names will only be posted on the wiki by the candidate him/herself, after accepting an offer, or by a third party with some corroborating evidence (university press release, link to successful candidate's website with announcement, etc), but I know that's not always possible since people hear things through social media or word of mouth. If you want to post a name of a pianist that you know has accepted an offer, please include something about the source of the information (not just "gossip" or "the grapevine"). This last year we had too much gossip-mongering and whining. Keep that to yourself.

Berklee College of Music: Assistant Chair of Piano (Deadline: Open until filled, posted 25 May 2021)[]

  • Berklee College of Music is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Chair of the Piano Department.
  • The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional musician, experienced educator, curriculum developer and effective administrator, with a background of successful employment in a collegiate setting. Bethany College: Studio Accompanist (Deadline: Open until filled, posted 01 June 2021)[]

  • The studio accompanist position begins in August for fall 2021 term with possible continuation for spring 2022. This position accompanies student soloists as arranged for rehearsing, lessons, performance, and juries. Office space may be able to be provided if desired.

  • Cedarville University's music program will have an open adjunct position in piano for the 2021-2022 academic year. Clarke University: Instructor of Music & Collaborative Pianist (part-time) (Deadline: 06 July 2021)[]

  • Clarke University is currently seeking qualified candidates for a half-time Instructor of Music & Collaborative Pianist beginning August 2021. This position is a 9-month, renewable contract.
  • As Clarke University provides students with a variety of musical experiences, facility with classical and musical theatre repertoire is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with potential for accompanying not only collegiate choirs, but also instrumental and vocal recitals for students and faculty. A Master of Music degree, preferably in collaborative piano or piano performance, is required for hiring at the instructor level.   • The Clemson University Department of Performing Arts seeks applicants for the position of Adjunct Applied faculty in Piano. Duties will begin August 18, 2021.
  • Responsibilities include:

College of the Ozarks: Adjunct Collaborative Artist— Piano (Review begins immediately, posted 19 July 2021)[]

  • College of the Ozarks invites applications for a part-time collaborative artist position in its music department. Start date is August 2021. The College seeks a dynamic, well-rounded pianist who is an excellent performer with strong communication skills, good sight-reading skills, and extensive experience in collaborative piano. Primary responsibilities include accompanying students in lessons, recitals, auditions, studio seminar classes, and juries. Ensemble responsibilities include serving as accompanist for the College of the Ozarks Chorale. This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in music, with a master’s degree preferred. Experience accompanying vocalists and choral ensembles, including during academic studies, is required.

  • The Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance seeks a Dance Accompanist to provide supportive and energetic accompaniment for seven two-credit modern and ballet courses each semester. The incumbent will guide students in their process of shaping music for their creative assignments and help them fill gaps in their knowledge so that they can make independent decisions about their projects.

  • The Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College (Illinois) invites application for a part-time guest lecturer position in piano to begin August 2021. Responsibilities will include teaching applied piano; additional responsibilities dependent on the skills, interest, and experience of the successful candidate, may include work in areas such as piano pedagogy, piano ensemble, or collaborative piano. All candidates should have evidence of successful teaching experience in applied piano, and the minimum of an earned master’s degree or its equivalent in a piano-related area.
  • Priority will be given to applicants with a record of strong teaching, accomplished performance, and Christian faith.

York College of Pennsylvania: Adjunct Professor of Music - Piano (Deadline: 01 November 2020, but review begins immediately (posted 10/8/20)[]

  • Applications are invited for an Adjunct Professor in the Department of The Arts and Humanities to teach courses in piano. Other duties include holding office hours and communicating with department faculty.
  • Requirements: Candidates should have a BA in Music or related area and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in their discipline. Candidates will demonstrate excellence and experience in their field. Additionally, it is highly desired that candidates have experience teaching in an online format.
