TENURE-TRACK POSITION

Pacific Lutheran University (WA) - Assistant Professor, Psychology

General Description: The Department of Psychology at Pacific Lutheran University seeks candidates for a tenure track Assistant Professor to teach 6 courses during the academic year and other job oriented diploma courses

Hiring Range: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience + benefits package

Work Schedule: Full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position available September 1, 2017.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Teach a two-semester sequence with labs in Statistics & Research Methods. This sequence fulfills 5 of the 6-course teaching load with the 6th course in the candidate's area of expertise; area of specialty is open.

• Hold regular office hours.

• Communicate effectively.

• Work cooperatively with other faculty and staff.

• Commitment to undergraduate teaching and liberal arts education.
• Commitment to actively involving undergraduates in research program.

Required Qualifications: PhD in Psychology. ABD will be considered but PhD degree must be in hand by September 1, 2017.

PITZER COLLEGE, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY

The Psychology Field Group at Pitzer College is recruiting a tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Social Psychology. Candidates are sought with a commitment to undergraduate teaching and the ability to establish an active research program that involves undergraduates. Area of research specialty within Social Psychology is open. We are especially interested in scholars whose research and teaching interests are in African Diasporan psychology. Teaching load is five courses per academic year and may include social psychology, an advanced seminar or specialty course in social psychology, introductory psychology, introduction to African American psychology, statistics, research methods, and/or a seminar in African American psychology. Ability to address issues of diversity—such as gender, sexuality, disability, class, race and/or ethnicity, and a demonstrated commitment to mentoring students from underrepresented groups—will be favorably considered. The successful candidate may establish affiliations with one of several Intercollegiate Departments (Africana Studies, Asian American Studies, Chican@/Latin@ Studies) and/or the Intercollegiate Feminist Center for Teaching, Research and Engagement.

Washington State University (WA) - TT Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Psychology

Summary of Duties: The successful candidate is expected to continue to advance a cutting-edge research program in educational psychology with particular emphases on advancing contemporary methodologies and assessment practice to address critical needs in outcomes assessment, particularly in higher education. Applicants are expected to continue a consistent record of publications in nationally and internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals as well as a strong program of research that is supported with external funding. The successful candidate will advise and mentor students, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and participate in professional services locally, regionally and nationally. The successful candidate will have appreciation of intellectual contributions from diverse methodologies and will collaborate with (a) a campus-wide Student Success project, (b) the Learning and Performance Research Center (LPRC), and other units on campus focused on student success, engagement, and retention. The person is expected to maintain research in this general area of student success.

Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in educational psychology, quantitative methodology, or a closely related field; demonstrated record of teaching courses in the educational psychology area, particularly in latent variable modeling, research methodology, quasi-experimental designs (e.g., propensity score matching regression-discontinuity designs, interrupted time series designs, various multivariate techniques), or educational assessment; demonstrated record of sustained scholarly productivity including a successful record of obtaining external funding and publications in leading national and/or international peer-reviewed journals; ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment on educational problems; and an interest in teaching and learning. To qualify at the associate or full professor level, applicants must have demonstrated this productivity and funding record over no less than 6 years.
