Candidates whose work demonstrates active engagement with these communities are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates submitting materials by Wednesday, February 1, 2023, will receive full consideration. Please submit a two-page cover letter, cv, work sample (an article or a chapter), and the names of three references. Candidates should also indicate their preferred primary department and, where applicable, the secondary department.

University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC): Bridge-to-Faculty Postdoctoral Fellow in Black Feminist/Womanist Studies. Deadline: March 20, 2023[]

The Department of Women's and Gender Studies at the University of South Carolina is hiring a postdoctoral fellow to begin in August 2023. We invite applications from outstanding scholars in Black Feminist/Womanist Studies who conduct research at the intersections of gender, race, class, and sexuality. The candidate will have completed a PhD in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies or a relevant academic discipline by the time of appointment, no more than four years past the PhD. This hire is part of a university-wide initiative that is designed to attract, support, and retain scholars from groups historically underrepresented in their departments or fields. The program seeks to recruit early-career scholars who, if successful during the post-doctoral period, may have the opportunity to transition to tenure track faculty at USC starting in the 2025-2026 academic year.
