Yes, that is the case from my understanding - no chosen candidate from last year due to them declining the job so they are reposting this year.
- Last year they were also supposed to hire someone on race / transnational but I don't see any new TT hires in the department? Just visiting professors.
- **I asked about this during my zoom interview and they said they have hired someone in race/transnational but that person is starting next school year due to another ongoing opportunity.

- They said they would bring 3 candidates to campus and let people know the end of the last week in October - which is this week. I haven't heard back, but that could mean they didn't choose me. The said they would bring folks in during November and let the chosen candidate know before Thanksgiving so they could have time to consider the job.
- I also haven't heard back but also didn't get a request for materials. So, I'm not sure what that means.

  - Just relaying experiences of multiple folks at Grand Valley. It's a tiny department but there are two toxic folks who are xenophobic, racist, and transphobic. They will try to involve you in their immature high school level politics. If you refuse to participate and instead focus on your own work they'll come after you and make your life hell. Ever since Kathleen Underwood, their founding chair retired, this department has been a mess and a revolving door of new hires. Beware!
