Macalester College - Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies [1]

The Macalester College Religious Studies Department invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies (tenure-track) to begin Fall 2020. A PhD is required by time of appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a broad range of courses in classical and modern Islam and in the study of religion more broadly (i.e. Introduction to Religious Studies). The field of specialty within Islamic Studies is open. We will also consider the candidate’s ability to contribute to other on-campus programs (for example, the Arabic Language Program, the Middle Eastern Studies and Islamic Civilizations concentration, Classical Mediterranean and the Middle East, American Studies, Sociology, and/or International Studies departments).

Texas Christian University, Assistant Professor of Religion in Latinx Religious Traditions [2]

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in hand by the time of appointment. TCU embraces the teacher-scholar model: excellence in teaching and published scholarship will be expected. The teaching load is typically five courses a year, three of which are introductory courses in religion that meet the TCU Core Curriculum Requirements (see http://www.core.tcu.edu). Upper-level courses will include classes on Latinx Religious Traditions as well as those in the candidate's particular area of expertise. Barry University Liturgical Theology (Miami Shores, FL) - Assistant Professor of Liturgical Theology [3]

Barry University is currently seeking an Assistant Professor. The Department of Theology and Philosophy invites applicants for a full-time continuing contract position in the field of Liturgical and Sacramental Theology at the assistant professor level, beginning in August 2020.

Essential Functions Teach the graduate and undergraduate courses in theology; 3-3 undergraduate and/or graduate level teaching load Active involvement in the department's theological graduate programs Academic advising and mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students Engage in scholarly work Serve on departmental, college, and university committees Participation in the collegial and intellectual life of the university. Supervision of thesis projects, departmental and college service, university service, community service, and sustained scholarship. Qualifications/Requirements Ph.D. in Theology required. The position is open with regard to area of specialization, methodological commitments and ecclesial location. However, facility with the Catholic liturgical and sacramental tradition, ability to correlate the relationship between liturgy and ecclesiology, and experience with praxis-theory-praxis methods of practical theology is strongly preferred. Experience with developing and teaching distance courses is welcomed.
