10/22--is anyone hearing much from anywhere? curious if anyone has interviewed or gotten interview requests.

  • Other than the rejection from GVSU I've only heard back from the first two places I submitted back in September (Wyoming + St Olaf) and both were for virtual interviews. Both schools are aiming for early campus visits (late Oct & Nov respectively) and both requested initial interviews with very tight turnarounds (literally request on Friday with interviews the following week). It's unlikely that many schools with Oct & Nov deadlines will be scheduling campus visits until next semester, so their timelines for initial interviews will be all over the place given finals and the holidays.
  • I also received an interview request from St. Olaf. Otherwise I have rejections from Ohio State and GVSU.

    • I know they were conducting campus visits in January. I know three people who had visits, but am not sure if anyone heard about a final decision.

  • 11/26 - honestly a waste of my time and labor on the part of the search committee chair. The email was generic and disrespectful.

  • Not sure if you're asking about updates after campus visits or after campus invites but their timeline was to do campus visits around the week of Oct 21 when I asked during my zoom interview. I did not hear back after so I'm assuming they've finished campus visits by now.

  • They said they will send out two campus visit invitations in the next few weeks but will not reach out if not one of these two candidates unless need follow up later in the year if their candidates don't work out.
  • Did they specifically say when the invitations will be sent out? I heard the chair say something similar but couldn't recall if they gave me a date.
  • 2/17 I believe they finished interviews 2/5 and then would have it sorted until after the following week. I believe they said, "As you know, it isn't over until a contract is signed." They might be open to an email! That's how I've learned more about not getting campus visits than any other way.
