"Special request" for research[]
I saw someone moved my special request down to "rumors" - I understand not wanting it to go at the top of the page, but if it goes at the bottom then nobody will see it and be able to participate. I'd love to hear any ideas on a better way of dealing with this. DanielG_AAA (talk) 18:05, March 22, 2016 (UTC)
- I'm moving the "Special Request" to the Discussion section again, at the request of another user. It's fine to post such things, but the top of the page will get cluttered (that's why a Discussion section was created in the first place ... also this TALK page is another appropriate place to have such discussions, that is why it exists). I have added a sub-header so the "request" will appear in the page TOC in case that helps. [EDIT to ADD: I also think you'd get a better response rate if you set up a section listing the schools / position in each field in a given year, so all people need to do is fill in the name... as your request notes, some fields do this, but other fields definitely prefer to keep things more anonymous ... naming on the wiki can also be contentious. - What do you think if I add a "Who got the job?" section like in Creative Writing? That will be less disruptive than what I did, but easier for people to participate than a request in the Discussion section. (And thanks for the link!) DanielG_AAA (talk) 13:19, March 29, 2016 (UTC)
- I think that's fine if you want to try it. Good luck. --Una74 (talk) 13:33, March 29, 2016 (UTC)
