Job Description:

General Statement of Duties:

The Department of Psychology and Philosophy at Framingham State University seeks applications for a tenure-track position in psychology at the assistant professor level starting fall AY19-20.

The position requires teaching General Psychology, Psychological Research Methods, and undergraduate capstone courses. Further, the successful candidate will teach courses in one or more of the domains from the psychology curriculum as well as upper division electives with a clinical bent (such as PSYC 322 Abnormal Psychology and PSYC 353 Topics in Human Services).

Candidates with a variety of applied interests in human services areas and clinical specialties are especially encouraged to apply.

FSU is dedicated to effective teaching with a 3-3 load and each course bears four credits. Contractual responsibilities also include academic advising, service to the university and department, and scholarship. Student-faculty collaboration is highly valued.


Minimum Requirements:

  1. Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate level
  2. Experience with or a demonstrated willingness to participate in teaching, mentoring, research, or service activities that promote an equitable, diverse, and inclusive academic environment,
  3. Scholarly competence, and
  4. Ph.D. or Ed.D. in psychology or a related field by 9/1/19.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the MSCA bargaining unit. Salary commensurate with experience in accordance with Appendix O of the Massachusetts State College Association (union) contract.
