As an Instructor I of Spanish you will teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as applicable; be involved in course and/or curriculum development; research/scholarship; participate on College and University committees and/or initiatives.

Teaches a 3/3 load of Spanish language courses (4 credit hours each). Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Spanish from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation. OR Master's degree in a related area with 18 credit hours of coursework in Spanish at the graduate level. One full year teaching experience. Interest in teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced Spanish language classes. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish. Must meet the University and College criteria for the appointment to the level of Instructor I. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Spanish from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation. Three years teaching experience at the university level. Experience with extracurricular activities, service learning, and study abroad program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Commitment to participating in an innovative language program. High level of professionalism, collegiality, and strong commitment to students. Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued professional development and service to the school and university.
